Originally, the coach house was used by Vicar and his family living in the vicarage. The building was a simple structure with enough space for a modest trap and two horses. There was even a space in the loft to keep hay and bedding dry. More recently the building was storage space for the family living here, but as it has some of the best views we thought it would make a lovely spot to have a sunny breakfast. So we have converted it into a one bedroom cottage with a glass wall so you can see all the way down the Dale.
The cottage has a cosy living room, with a low ceiling with views up to the church and across Nidderdale valley. Upstairs there is a bedroom with 3 windows around the room. Back down stairs there is a kitchen with a dining room area and a good sized bathroom (with shower over the bath). The kitchen has a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge with ice box, cooker with gas hob. The complete down stairs area has under floor heating to keep your toes toastie.
There is a large sunny seating area outside with a table and chairs. The views are stunning on the sunniest and snowiest of days. We get the weather so its perfect for heading out and having an adventure or staying in and enjoying the retreat.
You can combine the suite in the main house with the holiday cottage for larger groups or if there are two couples or families.
