Originally built around 1900 as the Vicarage for St.Chad's Church, found at the top of the hill in the village of Middlesmoor. The Vicarage is positioned a little further down the hill and gives us stunning views looking down the Dale - all the way to the Gouthwaite Reservoir and up to the church and pretty village. We really do have some on the best views in North Yorkshire.
We have called Stonebeck home since August 2016 when Rod and family handed over the keys after looking after her for nearly 30 years. The house had been flats, empty for ten years, a home for some local farmers, a holiday home and now our family home. We have made a commitment to the house, the area and the community and have fallen in love with what we have found.
We aim to add to this community and share its joys. This in turn will hopefully enable our guests to have the best time when staying at the Cottage , the House or both, feeling instantly like they know what’s on offer and what’s there to be enjoyed. We can share the best pubs, great walks, where to buy great food (Stonebeck Cheese- made a couple of miles away -see useful links) and many other things too. You ask it and we will hopefully know it!
The house has a separate suite with its own private access. The suite comprises a double bedroom with a super king size bed, living room and en suite bathroom which includes a bath with an over the top shower. There is your own music and tea and coffee making facilities.
The suite has stunning views looking down Nidderdale valley with the sun rising in the morning.
The Cottage sleeps up to four people (a chair bed and zed bed in living room).
You could stay in the house, the cottage or combine the two for larger groups and have meals with your friends staying in the cottage or a breakfast in the house.
Excited about visiting but have a query, we are happy to answer any questions.
